Willie “Toby” Louis Evans, 56 of New Haven, born March 15, 1958 in Durham, NC to William and Eva Evans of West Haven, entered eternal rest on January 23, 2015.
Willie will always be remembered for his love of family. He adored his mother and admired his father, who he called, “Pop.” Although Willie never had biological children, he always treated his nieces and nephews as his own. Willie leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his mother; brothers, Stanley Evans, Reginald Evans, Tony Evans (Robin), Kenneth Evans; sisters, Theresa Bellamy (Darrell), Mavis Evans (Christopher Bolden), Della Evans-Benton (Michael Benton); former wife, Bessie Young-Evans and stepchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother; William Peter Harris. His father, William Evans united with him in eternal rest the next day on January 24, 2015. A celebration of his life will take place Friday, January 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Chapel St. New Haven, CT 06511 with visitation Friday at the church from 10 – 11:00 AM.
