Four Barnard School Employees Placed On Leave

Peggy Moore is the veteran administrator taking over. Why would the district chose a person that left the district after "a stormy tenure" at Wilbur Cross? And will they provide Barnard with an assistant principal in the meanwhile?

If it's true that Peggy Moore is being called out of retirement, what a shame. Almost ten years later, it's still disturbing to remember how she unnecessarily and unapologetically alienated Wilbur Cross High School teachers, staff, students, and parents, crushing morale and school pride along the way.

Close the school. The district is out of money anyway.

Stop sending admin people who are problems
within other schools to the school. Tell the parents to stop blocking the schools number or answer the phone when teachers call . Start taking responsibility for your kids and stop blaming their problems on everyone else. Teach your kids respect. Ms.Gennerrette was useless and Dr. Carbeery was retired befroe she walked in the door. This school needs an administrator who is not afraid to stand up to the kids or parents and who supports the staff.

Ms. Moore greeted her staff on the first day of school at Cross telling them that she did not want to be there, but was "doing Reggie a favor." Hopefully she's learned from that mistake at least?

I'm sorry but how is a public school issue a 'private problem' and why aren't the parents outside demanding answers. They would not get away with this in other districts. NHPS you keep undermining the education of these children without one bit of forethought. The answer is not to close the school. I can't remember which clown offered up that suggestion but the classrooms are all already overcrowded. I've spent many afternoons at Barnard with parents as an advocate so nothing surprises. What does surprise is when a district administrator is not willing to be open about the actions of its reports. Policies need to change. Every citizen deserves to know what is going on whether they have a child in the system or not. I was not living in New Haven with this Moore person was disrespecting Wilbur Cross school. New Haven parents do something!!!! These are your kids. They live in a state with some of the best colleges and universities and this is how you let them treat your child? Keep playing musical chairs with the same old same old??

The sad part about this story is the administration has been ordered to call DCF and the NHPD!

So there are 4 professionals sitting home on paid administrative leave. That will cost the taxpayers over 1000 dollars per day. If and when the allegations against these 4 are unsubstantiated, then this money should come out of Birks salary.

Peggy Moore...the delta sister. What a surprise. She left a hot mess a Wilbur Cross that poor Edith Johnson is still cleaning up.

...So what will the repercussions be for all the higher-ups at AF who saw footage of Morgan Barth shoving a student and did not call DCF? Asking for a friend.

Great, a failed Administrator is going to go help run the school. New Haven Public Schools is in so much trouble.

I have friends who are Admins in Hartford and laugh that New Haven took Birks. Now, Birks promotes incompetent Sorioty sisters to higher positions, and this is going to save our schools.

I'm disgusted. I am so happy that I got out. You all deserve each other. The same mistakes happen over and over. And nobody does anything about it.

How did Roz Bannon weasel her way out of this mess on her watch? If you've seen how she treats students and staff at other schools, you would know that she was involved and aware of this situation. Now she conveniently leaves for another district?
