Cedar Hill Grocery Robbed At Gunpoint

A Cedar Hill grocery clerk was robbed recently at gunpoint at midnight.

That’s according to Cedar Hill / East Rock / Newhallville top cop Lt. Manmeet Colon, per her latest roundup of crimes in the three neighborhoods.

Following is Colon’s latest weekly report.

Tuesday April 9, 2019 Robbery with a firearm, New Haven Grocery, 1312 State St
 — occurred around midnight when the worked was closing up the shop
 — the perp entered the store possibly via rear door
 — perp placed a handgun to the worker’s head and demanded cash
 — perp was described as a black or Hispanic male in his 20s, 5“8, skinny built


Wednesday April 10, 2019 Robbery, 370 Mansfield St
 — this was a late report of a robbery
 — the victim stated on 4/8 he was assaulted and robbed by two men
 — He was sucker punched and knocked to the ground
 — One of the men were described as a Hispanic male. no further description

Wednesday April 10, 2019 Motor Vehicle Theft, Newhall and Lander St
 — MV was stolen overnight
 — keys were in the vehicle
 — it has been recovered since

Wednesday April 10, 2019 Larceny from Vehicle State and James
 — Work truck was broken into overnight
 — truck was left unlocked
 — construction tools were stolen

Wednesday April 10, 2019 Larceny from Vehicle 655 Orange St
 — occurred overnight
 — vehicle was possibly left unlocked
 — Book bag which was in the vehicle had an iPad in it which was stolen

Thursday April 11, 2019 Intimidation with a weapon, Bank Mobile, 115 Munson St
 — Customer service rep was threatened over the phone by a customer

Friday April 12, 2019 Burglary at 189 Thompson St
 — burglary occurred between 9 AM‑2:15 PM
 — Kitchen knife used to force entry
 — the burglar may be known to the resident

Saturday April 13, 2019 Person Shot, 273 W. Ivy St
 — Officers arrived to the area and made contact with a male gunshot victim on the steps of 273 W. Ivy St
 — He was shot multiple times
 — He was alert and conscious
 — Detectives are working this case diligently

Saturday April 13, 2019 Burglary, 819 Sherman Pkwy

- Construction site was burglarized overnight
 — basement was broken into and copper worth 7K was stolen
 — basement door was forced open
