State Cops ID Slain HSC Student, Assume Control Of Investigation

My condolences to the loved ones of the deceased. There is nothing sadder than the loss of a child to violence. Stop the violence.

First my condolences to the family and friends of this young boy. We have to do better with our children. I don't have the answers. So many lives affected by this. The family is devastated and should never have to go through this. Friends and teachers affected. I have many things to say and hope NHI can have a form regarding the violence our young children are seeing and going through, I don't want to go on about it in this context. The fear as a parent everyday my child leaves the house until he comes home. I just don't have the answers. As I said we have to do better, God Bless him and everyone who knew him.

This is extremely sad. This young man killed so tragically. This is the first story I've heard a family comment that they had issues and needed help. It appears they're being transparent to potentially help another young persons family to not end up this way.

Very Sad, As I said we need to do better. Our Gov. lawmakers , mayors, alders, need to use this as not to get votes. We need change. This family needed help and asked for help. Enough with this PC culture we have now. When kids are acting up they need to know there is consequences. That's how it used to be. I really hope we are not just talking about it and we do something. The people we vote in get to comfortable and don't do anything. Then they blame each other. It seems now it's all or nothing. We have to all work together. Our society is too sensitive. In schools teachers are afraid to say anything to a kid because they know a kid can just report them. My day, you were messing around in school the teacher would let you know and then your parents would know. Now it's like "let's sing a song together and do better next time' Enough of all that. Let the kids know they are screwing up and give them real consequences so they don't end up dead or in jail the rest of there lives. If our government won't help then vote them out. Our kids deserve it, one last thing I am so disappointed that this isn't a bigger story. 3 of us committed on this. Not a lot of coverage about this in other news outlets. I feel when we comment and talk about it maybe a good idea will come from us and maybe a government official who has some power can take that and do something. We may not agree with everything someone is saying but that is what makes us great,

We have failed our youth in so many ways, especially in the past 18 months.
Our one party state government has refused to strengthen our juvenile crime laws, instead they chose to focus on defunding police. Our governor continues to enact an emergency order, resulting in court backlogs and social service delays. Our mayor has not once spoken on the need for tougher laws and mandatory programs for juvenile offenders, but instead focuses on handing out fines for mask violations.
This child's mother had literally pleaded with the courts for help controlling her son. Now he is dead.
