Gov. Dannel P. Malloy stopped in to New Haven’s busy Dixwell Avenue Democratic campaign headquarters at mid-day Tuesday for a quick pep talk.

We cannot stop until eight o’clock,” the governor (pictured with voter Rafael Martinez) e told assembled voters and supporters.

Malloy, who’s running for reelection against Republican Tom Foley, was accompanied by Mayor Toni Harp and U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro as he rallied the troops. He said that he needs people to keep knocking on doors and to keep taking people to the polls. He also reminded them that right across from where they were standing at the headquarters will rise the new state-backed Dixwell Community Q” House. That drew cheers from the crowd.

Malloy helped get $1 million for the planning and design work for the new community center, and he’s helping to get the $14 million to $15 million needed to build a new building.

Let’s get this done,” Malloy said. Do not stop.”
