New Haven Projects Win Building Awards

Breaking ground on the REACH building in 2017.

Three New Haven project teams will receive awards from the Connecticut Building Congress at its June awards banquet.

The CBC is a forum for building professionals to connect, learn, and grow. It has been the premier organization for Connecticut’s building professionals to develop strong industry connections since 1952, according to a press release.

The New Haven awardees include:

• Chapel Haven will receive a merit award for new construction related to its campus expansion, specifically its new Residential/Education (REACH) building project. (Read about that here.)

Breaking ground in 2017 for McGivney in 2017.

• The McGivney Advanced Surgery Center at Yale-New Haven Hospital will receive a merit award from the CBC in its major renovations and expansions. (Read about that here.)

Yale

Pauli Murray and Benjamin Franklin Colleges.

• Yale University’s Benjamin Franklin and Pauli Murray Residential Colleges will receive a first-place award for the new construction of those facilities. (Read about that here.)

The New Haven projects are three of 13 total projects and teams that will be recognized for their work by the CBC. A 2019 Project Team of the year will be selected from one of the teams during an awards banquet slated for June 11. The banquet will be at the Bond Ballroom, 338 Asylum St., Hartford. The agenda for the awards banquet is as follows below:

5:30 — 6:30 PM: Networking, Registration, Light Appetizers, and Open Bar
6:30 PM — 7:15 PM: Salad Course, CBC Business Meeting, and Scholarship Awards Ceremony
7:15 — 8:15 PM: Dinner and Project Team Awards Program
8:15 — 8:30 PM: Buffet Dessert, Extra Networking, and Closing Remarks
