A man is listed in stable but critical condition after getting hit by a bus early Tuesday.
The incident occurred around 12:25 a.m. at Chapel and State Streets.
“The victim was a passenger on a CT Transit bus,” police spokeswoman Sgt. Shayna Kendall reported in a release.
“As he exited the bus, he stumbled back into the street where he fell under the bus.”
Kendall identified the victim as Giuseppe Dicrosta, 55, of New Haven.
The department’s Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the incident with the help of CT Transit.
