Police Tuesday announced up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to arrest and conviction of whoever attempted to burn two substations.

Someone threw a molotov cocktail at the Howard Avenue police substation Monday around 1 a.m. and at the Winchester Avenue substation at 2:11 a.m.

New Haven police are investigating the incidents in conjunction with the FBI and the Joint Terrorism Task Force.

The rewards announced Tuesday are for up to $2,500 for each incident.

Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to contact the Connecticut Arson Hotline at 1 – 800-84ARSON (1 – 800-842‑7766) or the New Haven Police Department Investigative Services/Fire Investigation Unit at 203 – 946-6304,” police spokesman Capt. Anthony Duff wrote in a release. Callers may remain anonymous or submit tips anonymously by calling 1 – 866-888-TIPS (1 – 866-888‑8477). Tips can also be texted.
