Facing a city shutdown, Walmart met a 72-hour city deadline to show it’s taking Covid-19 more seriously.
So its Foxon Boulevard store remained open Sunday.
City Health Director Maritza Bond had issued a final warning this week to produce documents showing it will revise its protocols in order to start complying with state health regulations for Covid-19. A health department investigation found repeated violations of rules governing mask use by employees, occupancy limits, and training and returning-to-work rules in the wake of reports of employees testing positive for the coronavirus. The warning notice accused the company of ignoring violation notices dating back to April 3.

“They are complying,” Bond told the Independent Sunday. “We are reviewing all the documents” the company submitted in response to the city’s request.
If they were a mom and pop store they would be shut down. Equal treatment for all!
