Joseph Louis Lowery, Sr., 83, passed away on April 7, 2018.
He was born on Sept.10, 1934 to the late William and Cora Diggs Lowery in Chesterfield, S.C. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 58 years Ireal Lowery, his children Joseph (Darlene) Lowery Jr. of New Haven and Maurice (Monique) Lowery of Groton, siblings; Will (Martha) Lowery of Fair Bluff, N.C. and Wilma Lowery of New Haven and a host of grandchildren, relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by a son, two brothers and four sisters. A celebration of Joseph’s life will take place Friday at 11 a.m. at Morning Star Freewill Holiness Church; 125 Dixwell Ave., New Haven, with calling hours from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
