Deborah Ann Harris, 56, of New Haven, departed this life May 10, 2009. She was the widow of George Harris.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, March 19, 1953, she was the daughter of Willa Carrington and the late William T. Carrington, Sr.
She was employed for numerous years by the former SNET Co. and was a member of St. Matthew’s UFWB Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Caprece Tavares (Marcus) of West Haven; brothers, Steven, Anthony, Adrian Sr. (Kia) and Maurice Carrington, all of New Haven; sisters, Cheryl Jones (Frank) of New Haven and Phillistine Slade (William) of New Milford, CT; her grandchildren, Raveighn and Sinque Tavares; a stepdaughter, Andrea Harris; a stepson, Jason Harris; her godsister, Novena Cates; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Carrington, Jr.
A celebration of Deborah’s life and legacy will be held Friday, May 15, 2009, at 12:00 P.M. at St. Matthew’s UFWB Church, 400 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. Friends may call at the church from 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
