Dorothy%20Winfrey%204-2-1926-4-19-2009%20pic.jpgDorothy Mae Winfrey (Dot), 83, of Norwalk, Connecticut and formerly of New Haven and Middletown, Connecticut entered into eternal rest with family and friends at her side on Sunday, April 19, 2009, at Norwalk Hospital. Dorothy was born in Landgraff (McDowell County), West Virginia to the late Jesse and Mary Jane Hall on April 2, 1926. She is survived by her loving daughter Addie Stevens (Reverend Dewitt Jr.), of Norwalk; twelve grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Hayward Inge and former husband, John Winfrey Sr.; sons, John Winfrey Jr., Adrian Winfrey; daughters, Yvonne Williams and DeLorise Simmons and granddaughters, Dana Winfrey and Shant√© Williams. She was employed by the State of Connecticut, Department of Social Services and retired after 25 years of service. Dorothy gave tirelessly of herself. Her charm and compassion for others will be sorely missed by all whose lives she touched. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Christ Chapel New Testament Church, 220 Dixwell Avenue, New Haven. Interment will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
