Elijah C. Wilborne, 75, of New Haven, departed this life June 26, 2010. He was the widower of Helen Wilborne.
Born in Halifax, VA, August 26, 1934, he was the son of the late James and Alberta Wilborne.
Prior to retiring, he was employed by Hertz Penske Co. as a Mechanic.
Mr. Wilborne is survived by a daughter, Lori Wilborne Carter; sons, Danny E., Gregory W., Darin A. and Timothy B. Wilborne; seventeen grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by a son, Dennis L. Wilborne and a sister, Sydney Wilborne.
A celebration of Mr. Wilborne’s life and legacy will be held, Thursday, July 1, 2010, at 1:00 PM at Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Chapel St., New Haven. Visitation will be held at the church from 12:00 – 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Hamden Plains Cemetery. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
