Melvin H. Younger, 87 of New Haven born February 28, 1926 in Kyle, West VA to the late Edward and Minnie Younger entered eternal rest on January 15, 2015.
He was a retired Coal Miner for over 20 years and also retired Tractor Trailer Driver for Stop & Shop for 25 years and a retired WW II Veteran from the U.S Navy.
Melvin leaves to cherish his memory, His loving wife of over 66 years Frances: daughters, Cynthia Williams of New Haven; Carolyn Fletcher of Wallingford, CT; sons, Melvin H. Younger, Jr. of New Haven; Dion Younger (Vickie): sister Daisy Younger of NC; Three grandchildren and four great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Besides his parents Melvin was predeceased by brothers; Charles, David, and Adolph Younger, Sister Mabel Jones, and Grandson Jerrell Fletcher
A celebration of his life will take place, Friday, January 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Matthew UFWB Church, 400 Dixwell Avenue, New Haven, CT with visitation Friday at the church from 10 – 11:00 AM.
