Curtis E. Stewart
Curtis E. Stewart, 75 of Derby Ave., passed away March 14, 2007 at CT Hospice after a brief illness. Beloved husband of Lynda Reeves-Stewart, Curtis was born August 1, 1931 to the late Roosevelt and Iola Grimmett Stewart. Mr. Stewart, a retired forklift operator from Cytech and a veteran of the US Army. Besides his wife, he is survived by sons Curtis Stewart, Jr. of North Hollywood, CA; Kevin Stewart of New Haven; stepsons James Mays and Curtis Callens both of New Haven; daughters Cynthia Brown of West Haven, Bridgette Stewart of Decatur, GA; stepdaughters Christie Jacobs of New Haven and Delores Fogle of Meriden; brothers Roosevelt Stewart of Huntsville, AL, Thomas Stewart (Leola) of Tuskegee, AL; Harold Stewart of Atlanta, GA and sister Jeanette Arnold (Robert) of Niceville, FL; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his son Chris Stewart, brother Charles Stewart; his first wife Eunice Ford and second wife Augustine Mays. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 10:00 at Christian Tabernacle Church, 449 Newhall Street, Hamden. Friends may call at the church Saturday 9 — 10 am. Tiffany C. Gorham
Tiffany Cheona Gorham 29, passed away March 9, 2007 at New Britain General Hospital. Tiffany, the beloved daughter of Katherine Gorham of New Haven, was born October 15, 1977 in New Haven. She dedicated her life to serving others; as such she worked for the Department of Social Services, State of Connecticut as a social worker for the past 7 years. Besides her mother, she leaves her uncle Robert Gorham and aunt Judy Gorham , a host of other relatives and friends and her beloved friend, Michael McCants. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Leonard and Irene Fields Gorham and her aunt Helen Gorham. A celebration of her life will be held at 10 am on Friday, March 16, 2007 at St. Matthew’s UFW Baptist Church, 400 Dixwell Ave.. The calling hour will be Friday at the church from 9 – 10 am. Emily Graham-Johnson of Chapel Street, beloved wife of Ernest Johnson, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born in Portland, Jamaica to the late Maurice Hanson and Amanda Claire Hanson. Mrs. Graham-Johnson was a member of Bethel AME. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her passing; five daughters, Pat Haughton of Laurelton, NY, Sonia Graham of Pembrooke Pines, FL, Paulette Clarke of Warwick, NY, Lois Brown and Margaret Walters both of Springfield, MA; three sisters, her twin Ethel Hall of London, England, Laura Hall and Joyce Hanson, both of Portland, Jamaica; twenty grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by three sons Sydney, Donald, and Frank Graham; one daughter Barbara Shattuck; three brothers and four sisters. A wake will be held on Friday March 16, 2007 at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services 1287 Chapel St. from 6 – 8 pm. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 9 am at Bethel AME Church, 255 Goffe Street,.
