Bettie L. Ware-Frazier, 71, previously of 41 Henry St. New Haven, CT, passed away on June 3, 2007 at the Hospital of St. Raphael. She was born December 23, 1935 in Pendleton, SC to the late Ernest and Florine Gilliard Ware-Jenkins. She was an employee at Strous Adler Smoothie Company for 22 years, and a Senior employee at Community Action Agency for 5 years. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and godmother. She leaves to mourn her loss, daughters, Lori Lynn Frazier, of New Haven, and Mary Ellen Frazier of Trenton, NJ; sons Rory Frazier and Joseph W. Robinson of New Haven, and sister Christine James of Pelzer, S.C.; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by sisters, Marilyn Baker and Effie Lewis Harris. A celebration of her life will be held Friday June 8, 2007 at 6:00 pm at Bethel AME Church, 255 Goffe St. New Haven, CT. She was born February 12, 1927 in Augusta, GA to the late Forest and Lottie Cofer. She was the devoted and loving mother of sons, Marshall Senior, III of Mt. Vernon, NY and Kent Senior of New Haven; daughters, Patricia A. Senior of West Haven, CT, Kim N. and Tracey L. Senior of New Haven; brothers, William and James Cofer of Augusta, GA; sisters, Elizabeth Burton and Helen Stokes of Augusta, GA, Shirley Jones of Columbia, SC, and Dorothy Thomas of NJ. She also leaves a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Marshall Senior, Jr., son, Glen Senior, brother Guy Cofer, and sisters Mary Cofer and Daisey Davis. Also survived by her husband’s children; Sgt. James C. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, Phillip Lindsey of 22 years; son, James Garrett of New Haven; daughters, Carolyn Marie Underwood, and Ayishea Denson of New Haven, and Sharmato Denson of North Haven, CT; also survived by brothers, Roger, Anthony, Billy, and Buddy of Florida, and Ronnie of Georgia; sisters Linda, Sharon, Connie, and Wanda of Florida, and Patricia Patrick of Cheshire, CT; godmother Mother Taylor; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; she leaves a host of family and friends. She was predeceased by her brother William Patrick; sister Pinky Ponder, and grand-daughter Tashima Bivens. She was the daughter of Bishop Paul Sherard and Elder Rosetta Sherard Johnson.

John retired from Marcus Papermill Company and he was a veteran firefighter in the Air Force. John is survived by his sister Bertha, and brother Willie (Sonny) Gulley both of West Haven; six sons, Gregory Grier, and James P. McCurdy, both of West Haven, and Ernest L., Michael A., and Rodney Gulley, all of New Haven, and Philip Gulley, of Hamden; 10 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren; John was predeceased by sister Laura-Bell Jackson and former wife Virginia M. Mrs. Howard had been employed by VNA of South Central CT as a home health aide and nurse’s assistant. She leaves to cherish her memories, a son, Jerome Howard; daughters, Shelia Brown, Linda Clemons Harrington, Brenda C. Allen and Patricia Howard; brothers, Johnny, Ray and William Spell; sisters, Sarah Spruill and Mary Kendrick; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by a daughter, Vickie Clemons; and sisters, Florence Daughtry and Margie Lewis.
