Robert Perry, 78

Robert Perry was born on July 7, 1933 in West Virginia and passed away on Dec. 29, 2011.

He grew up in West Virginia with 3 sisters and 3 brothers. While growing up Robert’s nickname was Little Robbie”. After high school graduation Robert moved to Ohio. He then moved to New Haven, CT where he has lived for many years. There in New Haven, Robert met his wife Sylvia. The story goes he was coaching Little League baseball and he kept peeking at Sylvia through the dugout”. They were married June 7, 1974. Robert has 2 step children, Germano and Veronica, 5 Grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Robert worked at Winchester Arms in New Haven. He was a toll bridge operator for the State of Connecticut. He also served as a school crossing guard for 10 years. Robert loved fresh water fishing and coaching Little League baseball. Robert is also survived by 2 sisters, Lucy I. Moore and Gaynell Marie of New Haven; sister in law, Priscilla Banister of Boston; niece and nephew Johnny and Carol Williams of Hamden; special cousins, Fred and Maxine Young, Lela Perry of Hartford; and many more cousins, nieces nephews and grand nieces and nephews. A memorial services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 10AM at Howard K.
