Tyrone Ballard, 56, of New Haven, entered into eternal life on Sunday, April 12, 2009.
Tyrone was born May 11, 1952, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Aaron Ballard and the late Lucille Parker. As a child, Tyrone attended Cincinnati Public Schools in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1977, he moved to New Haven and began to build a productive life around working with his hands and developing craft skills. He worked as an independent dry-wall contractor until he was disabled. Never one to idle, Tyrone developed a passion for fishing. This served him well as he battled with cancer.
Tyrone is survived by brothers, Charles Ballard (Karen) and Kevin Brown; a niece, Nikki Ballard-Smith; an uncle, Paul Tucker; an aunt, Susie Mae Colbert; and a host other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Ballard.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 17, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford. Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven, is in charge of arrangements. Online guestbook available at www.curvinkcouncil.com
