William Arthur Lee, 88, of New Haven, departed this life October 13, 2014. He was the widower of Lelia Robinson Lee.
Born in Faison, NC, December 20, 1925, he was the son of the late Ada Jane Faison.
Mr. Lee was employed for numerous years by Charles Smith and Son Construction Co. in Groton. He is survived by a son, Larry Rodgers; daughters, Willie Jane “Bunny” Lee, Sarah Lee Tomlin (Thomas), Kathy Caines (Randy), Patricia Mulley, Terry Lee Turner (Jerome), Leila Silva and Portia Miller; a close cousin, Linwood Lee; godson, John Flax; sisters in-law, Betty Alexander and Shirley Graham; brothers in-law, Ernest and Frank Robinson; 21 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; 26 great-great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his grandfather, Joseph T. Lee; sons, Andrew Robinson and Tony Bailey; a sister, Helen Bell; and a grandson, Antoine Wright.
A celebration of Mr. Lee’s life and legacy was held Saturday, October 18, 2014, at 9:00 A.M. at Macedonia Church of God in Christ, 151 Newhall St., New Haven. Viewing was held at the church from 8:00 – 9:00 A.M. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
