1,200 Cyclists Take To The Road

Rock to Rock — New Haven’s annual family-friendly celebration of the environmental and all things bikable — drew more than 1,200 cyclists Saturday to city streets between East and West Rock.

Some went on a full 12-mile ride, others shorter trips (with kids in tow), some along the Farmington Canal Trail, all in bike lanes. They listened to music, heard about ways to improve the environment, and had lots of fun.

They also raised $175,000 (not a typo) for green causes …

… and gazed at cycle-themed art installations created for the occasion.
