A pit bull and her son had some fun with the shreds of a Schwinn tire Wednesday, until their owner broke it up.

The owner was having a conversation with some people passing by his home on Huntington Street in Newhallville, when Cupid and her son Maximus got caught up in competing for the rubber prize. The owner cut off his conversation twice to stop the action.

What??  This is a news story????

My neighbor cut his grass yesterday afternoon.  Next time, please, please come and cover the event!  Everybody needs to know about it!

Someone else and I were having a conversation which I interrupted twice so I could pet his dog!  There should have been video!

Maybe the NHI is going to start a series called “Poochie of the Week” like the “Cop of the Week” series? They will showcase a different New Haven dog every week doing what dogs generally do on an everyday basis and treat it as something special.
