Local black firefighters announced that they’ve endorsed Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy for reelection.
The endorsement came from the New Haven Firebirds and the Northeast region of the International Association of Black Firefighters.
Spokesperson Gary Tinney said the endorsement stemmed from Mallloy’s “support for the fire service and public safety academies” the groups run to prepare high-schools for careers as EMTs and firefighters, including helping them get needed certifications.
Malloy faces Republican Tom Foley in the gubernatorial election Tuesday.
The day bedore the election. Looks like a self serving endorsement from a group of political do nothings. But they'll probably show up at the after party well rested.
