Food For The Mind, Food For The Stomach

Young people were fed in two ways in the Hill Tuesday.

A truck pulled into the corner parking of the Cornell Scott Hill Health Center on Columbus Avenue to deliver free meals. The United Way has donated that truck to the public schools since 2011 to help deliver healthful meals to needy students during the summer academic break.

On Tuesday afternoon, the truck was loaded with not just food, but books, to keep kids reading as well.

We’re doing this because we believe it’s important to feed both the stomachs and minds of local children,” the United Way explained in a release.
