Joe L. Cox, 80, of New Haven passed away August 10, 2016.
He was born June 6, 1936 in Bethel NC to the late John and Annie Lee Cox. Joe worked for many years as a machinist for Sargent Lock and also played baseball for the New Haven Cardinals.
Joe leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Ida Peele; sons, Joe Cox, Jr., Dennis Hopkins, and Norris Gardner; five sisters; 11 grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers; and one sister.
A celebration of life will take place Friday, August 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Beulah Heights First Pentecostal Church, 782 Orchard St, New Haven, CT 06511. Friends may call Friday at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. Services provided by Howard K.
