Last Night’s Most Vicious, Heartless Crime

That’s all the money I have, the disabled man pleaded. The armed robbers demanded his medications — then tied the man up, naked.

That happened in the West Hills neighborhood Tuesday night.

Police spokesman Officer David Hartman wrote up the following summary of the incident.

At 10:55 p.m., Officer Ann M. Salamon was dispatched to a West Hills apartment to investigate a home invasion. Once there, she spoke with the victim, a 39-year-old disabled man.

He told her he’d arrived home about an hour earlier. He said as he opened his front door, he was pushed inside by two black men, each armed with handguns. He said the men demanded money. He offered them the cash he had on him, but they insisted he give up more. He said he was kicked and hit after being forced to the floor. He said he saw a bullet fall from one of the guns. It was retrieved by the robber.

When the victim pleaded with them that he was disabled and had no more money, the crooks demanded he turn over his medications.

The armed men had the victim undress to his underwear before tying him up with a garden hose. They dragged him into the bathroom and barricaded the door with a chair. The lowlifes made off with the victim’s car after ransacking his home for about an hour.

Once they’d left, the victim freed himself and went to a neighbor’s home to phone police.

Taken were various electronics such as Televisions, Xboxes and computers.

The victim’s car is a tan 1999 Buick Park Avenue bearing CT registration 789WSV.

The perpetrators are described as follows: #1 is a medium complexioned black man in his early twenties. He had a low hair cut. He wore a hat, a blue hooded sweatshirt with writing on it and blue jeans. He was armed. #2 had a slightly darker complexion. He has a low haircut and wore a grey Champion hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. One of the men (although uncertain as to which) had black sneakers with either orange or pink accents.

If apprehended, each perpetrator face up to 20 criminal charges including home invasion.”
