A 35-year-old New Haven man was pronounced dead at Yale-New Haven Hospital at 11:25 p.m. Wednesday after getting shot on the east side of town.
Police responding to a report of gunshots had found the man, Allen Atkins of Plymouth Street, alone at the scene near Eastern Street and shot in the shoulder, according to police spokesman Officer David Hartman.
“No witnesses have yet come forward with any information on this homicide. No descriptions of the shooter or any get-away car have been provided,” Hartman stated in a release. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 203 – 946-6304..
