Man Shot Outside Owl’s Nest

Someone shot a 37-year-old man outside the Owl’s Nest bar in Westville Village early Sunday.

Police responded to a report of gunshots at 12:29 a.m. and found the man outside the bar on Tour Avenue.

The man, who lives in East Haven, had been inside the bar during the evening, according to Assistant Police Chief Archie Generoso. Generoso said the shooting took place right outside the bar. The shooter hit the man multiple times,” according to Generoso.

A neighbor reported hearing gunshots and then seeing a fast car” take off through a red light on Whalley and head downtown.

The victim was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital. His condition was listed as serious as of Sunday afternoon.

Detectives have begun investigating the shooting. Polcie don’t have a suspect yet, according to Generoso.
