A 58-year-old man “either slipped or stepped into” the path of a snow-plow truck on Ellsworth Avenue around 8:50 p.m. Monday.
The driver, who “remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators,” was not at fault and wasn’t charged, according to police spokesman Officer David Hartman. He said the victim, who is in the hospital in critical condition, is expected to survive.

Monday night they visited the man, who “confessed he’d been shot accidentally while at a friend’s home in Madison,” Hartman reported.
