Dispatchers To Hold Benefit For Longtime Union Prez

A benefit/signal 4 dance will be held for former longtime AFSCME Local 884 president Ronald Hobson.

Hobson (pictured), who stepped down this year as union president, is battling cancer. Friends in the public safety communications suite at 1 Union Ave. are putting on the event to help raise money. Hobson has worked in the 911 center for 26 years.

The dance will be held Jan. 28 at 102 Hamilton St. The dance will start at 5 p.m. and go until 11 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. There will be a raffle food and a cash bar.
