Construction on the latest stages of the Downtown Crossing project will mean lane closures Memorial Day weekend, then another bunch of street closings over the next three weeks.
The following details come courtesy of the Downtown/Wooster Square Management Team:
Over the Memorial Day Weekend, a crane will be set up on South Frontage Road (between College Street and York Street) to facilitate construction of the 100 College Street building. The LEFT two lanes will be closed at 11:00 PM on Friday, May 22 until 6:00 AM on Sunday, May 24.
Full list of upcoming Downtown Crossing traffic impacts are below.
SOUTH FRONTAGE ROAD:
Beginning Tuesday, May 26 and continuing for approximately three (3) weeks, crews will begin cleaning a stormwater drainage pipe along South Frontage Road (between College Street and Orange Street) in order to reduce flooding during heavy rain events. The LEFT lane will be closed at various times to facilitate this work.
MLK BOULEVARD, CHURCH STREET & COLLEGE STREET:
Beginning May 28 (weather permitting), the bike lanes will be marked along MLK Boulevard, Church Street and College Street and continue through the week of June 1.
ROUTE 34 WESTBOUND:
An overhead sign will be installed along Route 34 westbound at Orange Street on Tuesday, May 26 and will continue through Wednesday, May 27. The LEFT and CENTER lanes will be closed between 6:00PM and 6:00AM.
Please note that the service drives to 100 College Street and the Air Rights Garage remain CLOSED until further notice.
PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS — COLLEGE STREET
The pedestrian sidewalk on the west side of College Street (between MLK Boulevard and South Frontage Road) remains CLOSED until further notice.
Maybe just prepare to take a train or a bike or move into town from the burbs. It's better for you than swearing.
