Tiny dancers showcase moves from the Caribbean.

The Board of Alders Black & Hispanic caucus rounded out the celebration of Black History Month with the art of dance.

Attendees packed the basement of 200 Orange.

Students of the Hamden Academy of Dance & Music entertained an educated a packed room in the basement of 200 Orange St. during the annual Black Month program Friday.

Dancers showed off their tapping skills.

The program showcased African-American contributions to different genres of dance like ballet, jazz, tap and modern dance art forms such as hip-hop dancing.

It also highlighted dance and its connection to spirituality through liturgical dance, as well as its differences throughout the African diaspora, particularly in the Caribbean.
