Will he get caught in real life?
That’s the question now that a citizen’s surveillance camera worked the way it was supposed to.
The camera, at a location on Pearl Street, caught a man pulling up to the curb in what looks like a black Honda at 4:18 p.m. Tuesday, getting out, walking up to a porch, then walking away.
Three packages disappeared from the porch.
The video shows that the man turned left down the street. He didn’t return to the Honda until maybe a half-minute later.

Lisa Siedlarz, an organizer in the neighborhood, known as “SoHu” for “South of Humphrey,” distributed the video. Other neighbors subsequently told her that someone had stolen their mail, too.
Does video help? The police have the video and are investigating. Stay tuned.
The neighborhood’s new top cop. Lt. Ken Blanchard, said Thursday that porch thefts have been a problem.
“We locked up one guy last week on Bishop Street who was stealing off the porches. He had a lot of crack on him, too,” Blanchard said.
Blanchard urged anyone else who had stuff stolen from their porches to call 203-946-6316 and leave him a call-back message. Anyone who recognizes the man in the video or has other information about that incident should contact Blanchard, too.
“It has been an ongoing problem since Christmas throughout all of East Rock,” observed Siedlarz. She said neighbors plan to discuss the problem with Lt. Blanchard at their Feb. 20 block watch meeting.

Pretty sure he was just putting the parcels in the trunk for that thirty seconds…

Looking at the vertical grill, the car is almost certainly not a Honda.
Looking at the full youtube video, it looks like a late 90’s Buick Century-
