A man’s body was found hanging by a belt in Saint Bernard Cemetery Thursday.
Hours later a 22-year-old woman was found dead in a Newhallville apartment.
Relatives found the adult woman’s body in a Daisy Street apartment in Newhallville and contacted police at 5:33 p.m., according to police spokesman Officer David Hartman.
He identified the woman as Kwasiada Robinson.
Around five hours earlier, the body of an adult man was discovered hanging by a belt from a tree in the cemetery cemetery across the Boulevard from the Columbus House emergency shelter.
Update: Hartman later reported that the man who committed suicide had lived with Robinson for years. They’d had a “turbulent” relattionship. At the time of his death, the man had a warrant out for his arrest on a second-degree domestic assault charge involving Robinson.
An autopsy has revealed that Robinson was strangled to death. Police consider the man a suspect in the murder. “However the forensic investigation is far from over and his involvement remains uncertain at this time,” Hartman noted.
