Miracle Prayed For

Joel Rudikoff has started praying for the Mets.

His hopes were high for World Series game one on Oct. 27, when they lost narrowly to the Kansas City Royals. They dipped on the 28th, when the team was crushed in their 1 – 7 defeat. Now, on the eve of bringing his family into the city for game four on Saturday night, he’s ready to start shutting his eyes, directing his words up to God, and davening like there’s no tomorrow.

On Friday morning’s Cannoli/Knish Sports Hour,” he brought his prediction of a game three victory to the WNHH studio, making a case for his beloved blue-and-orange clad team before co-hosts Adam Joseph and Vincent Mauro, Jr. After hearing him out, Mauro conceded the Mets still have a chance.
Maybe.

That’s [the Royals] a tough team to beat. But the Royals are beatable. They lost two games to the Astros at home [earlier this year, before coming back strong]. They can be beat. But we absolutely have to win this game,” he said.

Their conversation also gave a nod to another season that kicked into gear earlier this week: the National Basketball League, which handed New Yorkers a refreshing surprise with Knicks 2015 draft pick Kristaps Porzingis.
