Today’s shows on WNHH radio covered the strange and still-unfolding case of Lishan Wang, who is defending himself in a murder trial, local filmmaker Stephen Dest, and some secrets to Black Nativity in New Haven.

Local filmmaker, writer and director Stephen Dest joined host Tom Breen for Deep Focus.” Starting with his 2013 Elm City-centric movie My Brother Jack, the two discussed his career as a creative in New Haven, and current project I Am Shakespeare, the story of New Havener Henry Green. 

Lyric Hall’s John Cavaliere, and performer and musician Dante Hall, appeared on Alisa’s Culture Cocktail” to talk with WNHH host Alisa Bowens.

On Dateline New Haven,” Branford Eagle Editor and host of WNHH Legal Eagle” Marcia Chambers joined host Paul Bass to discuss the strange case of Dr. Lishan Wang, who allegedly murdered medical Branford’s Dr. Vajinder Toor in April 2010 and has yet to have his case come to trial, while possibly precedent-setting wrangling continues about the right to self-representation and to avoid medication.
