Abraham Williams, Jr. was born in New Bern, NC on May 10, 1933 to the late Abraham Williams and Sarah McClease Williams.
In 1957, Abraham was honorably discharged from the US Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he was employed at the Veterans Administration Hospital for over 40 years as a Nurse Technician. He leaves to cherish his memory; children, Stanley Williams (Delores), Gail Williams both of New Haven, Roger Williams (Sharon) of Hartford, Sharon Dunham (Franklin) of Spout Spring, VA, Patrina Wilson (Thomas) of Daleville, VA; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Jessie R. Williams of New Bern; one special cousin, William R. McClease of New Haven and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years, Shirley T. (Singleton) Williams and 4 siblings. A celebration of his life will take place Monday January 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT 06511 with visitation Monday at the funeral home from 10 – 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery.
