Amos J. Beamon 102 of New Haven, CT was called home to be with the Lord on April 1, 2016.
He was born in Sunbury, NC to the late Noah and Mamie (Gatling) Beamon. Amos was a member of the Elks and Masonic Lodges. He also was a Deputy Sheriff of the New Haven County. Besides his loving wife Grace Harrell Beamon he leaves to cherish his memory; three sons, Douglas Amos Beamon of New Haven, Dennis (Gloria)Mutts of NC, James Mutts of FL; three daughters, Gloria Beamon of DE, Sandra Beamon and Carolyn Mutts both of New Haven; two sisters, Willa Holahan and Carry Beamon both of New Haven; one brother Charlie Beamon of Wallingford; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by four brothers; Julius Beamon, Joseph Beamon, John Beamon, James Beamon; three sisters, Bessie Hunter, Frances Hunter, Maggie Ford. A Celebration of life will take place Friday, April 8, 2016 at Varick Memorial AME Zion Church, 242 Dixwell Ave., New Haven, CT at 11:30AM and viewing will be from 9 – 11:30AM. Services by Howard K.
