Asimina Antonellis, 79

Asimina (Mina) Antonellis, 79, of Fountain St., New Haven, passed away July 29, 2013 in Masonicare, Wallingford after a brief illness.

She was the beloved wife of the late Konstantinos (Gus) Antonellis. Born in Corinth, Greece on Oct 31, 1933, she was the daughter of the late John & Irene Gaitanou. She married and came to New Haven in 1963. She has been a New Haven resident ever since. A seamstress by trade, she assisted her late husband in the operation of The College Spa on College St. in downtown New Haven for many years. She was a loyal member of St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church and an active member of the Odyssey Committee, particularly in the Loukoumades booth. She is survived by two sons, George (Donna) Antonellis of Orange and Theodore Antonellis of Bethany; two sisters, Sophia & Anna, both in Greece; and 5 grandchildren, Michael, Steven, Sylvia, Stephanie & George Antonellis. She was predeceased by a brother, George Gaitanou. Friends may call at The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Thursday from 4 to 8 pm and are invited to attend funeral services in St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Rd., Orange Friday morning at 10:30. Interment in Beaverdale.
