Arthur Lee Allen “Bo-Jay”, 86, of New Haven, departed this life February 9, 2010. He was the husband of Willie Mae Allen.
Born in Havana, FL, August 23, 1923, he was the son of the late Jim and Laura JenningsAllen.
Prior to retiring, he was employed as a Truck Driver for over 50 years.
In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Maudeen and Patricia Allen; a son, Samuel Lee Allen; 19 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by sons, Donald L. Allen and Arthur L. Allen, Jr.; a daughter, Alicia Winns; brothers, Jimmy L. and Johnny L. Allen; and a sister, Brownie Mae Walker.
A celebration of Mr. Allen’s life and legacy will be held Thursday, February 18, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Walk of Faith Church, 104 Fairmont Ave., New Haven. Viewing and visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Burial will be private. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
