Aurelia Hooks, 69, born March 7, 1943 in Cheraw, SC to the late Mack Robinson and Mattie Short went home to be with the Lord, January 15, 2013.
Aurelia was a loving, kind, compassionate woman; she had a heart of gold and loved her family. Aurelia was a woman of many talents, besides her big heart and kind spirit, she was known all over for her baking and cooking, she was loved by many and she will truly be missed. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, Madison, Jr., Billy & Bobby, She leaves to cherish her memory; son, Samuel Hooks, III (Christine Pearson, girlfriend); daughter, Mattie Hooks; brother, Charles Short; sister, Lula Thomas; brother in law Larry Hooks; sister in law Ellen Hooks; grandchildren, Karissa Griffin-Johnson (Larry), Taijonna, Nadia, and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. A celebration of her life will take place Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 11 AM at Community Baptist Church, 143 Shelton Ave, New Haven, CT 06511 with calling hours at the church prior to the service from 9 – 11 AM.
