Bertha Mae Rose Greaux June 20, 1939-June 3, 2010. Affectionately known as “Lil Sister” was born in Suffolk, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Lucille B. Rose. In her memory, she leaves four children and spouses, Tracy L. Rose Greaux and Pauline, Sharon Y. Randolph and Tim Lucinda A. Sawyer and Darrell, Bryant K. Greaux and Charlotte and a Daughter in law, Jacqueline McKisson Greaux, Nine grand children and three great grandchildren, two nephews, Lewis and Glenn Myrick and a niece Lynn Myrick and a host of other relative and friends. She was also predeceased by two siblings, William T. Rose Jr. and Barbara D. Myrick and a son Jeffery E. Greaux. She also remember the ones Jehovah placed in her life to serve as family, Sister Inez Brooks, Sis Francis Walker, Sister Icerene Cooper and Sister Virginia McKnight, Bro Rufos and Betty McKissom. Her nurse, Linnel Tambori, Home Health Aide, Minnie Sherod who has assisted her faithful for years. Bertha Mae Rose Greaux was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister and friend. Whatever capacity you knew her in, she blessed our lives. She was a dedicated baptized Jehovah’s Witness for forty-two years as she demonstrated that through years of service by keeping the greatest commandment in Matthews 28:19,20 “Go therefore and make disciples of people of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all the things that I have commanded you, And look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of this system of things.” By any means necessary, Sister Greaux was determined to make disciples on foot, by bicycle, over the phone in a letter, through street witnessing or door to door when her health permitted. She would take advantage of every opportunity to engage anyone in Jehovahs word because she knew this was the only way to have a hope of a better future. We thank her a life of service to Jehovah in which she touch the lives of many. As a mother and grandmother she was a loving, caring, nurturing woman who instilled great values in her children by living a life of integrity and virtue through her obedience to Jehovah’s word. She demanded nothing less than she displayed in our lives because of such an expectation it allows us to be here today. As a Aunt, a friend, second mother to many, she proved to be a giving woman who put the needs of others before herself. She always had a word of encouragement and would always try to accentuate the positive in someone by pointing out the negative. As we celebrate her memory and look back over years of declining health we are encouraged by her ability to persevere through pain, the disappointments and the situations that life brings her way. We are blessed for the gift named Bertha that Jehovah lent to us. She was formerly employed by YNHH. She also worked as a server and helper in various food service establishments. She was self employed as a domestic aid which allowed her to pioneer for years and be available for her children as a single Mom. You will forever be in our hearts. It’s so hard to believe that you’re really gone and to know that we will no longer see your smiling face or hear the sound of your laughter. You left so many memories, which will never part. You will always live deep inside our hearts. We are thankful that Jehovah graced us with someone as special as you. It’s hard to believe your life on Earth is really through. In loving memory of Bertha Mae Rose Greaux who returned back to the Earth until we meet again.
