Catherine M. Fleming, 86, of New Haven, departed this life December 13, 2013.
She was the widow of Thomas M. Fleming, Sr.
Born in Cheraw, SC, June 11, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Nannie Short.
Prior to retiring, she was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as a Machine Operator.
Mrs. Fleming was a member of Bible Gospel Center.
She is survived by a daughter, Audrey Blue (Dannie); a son, James “Jimmy” Fleming; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by sons, Thomas M. Fleming, Jr. and Michael Fleming; brothers, Robert, Thomas, Fred, Roosevelt, Lawrence, Horace and Garland Short; and sisters, Leola Singleton, Maeida Hooks and Inez Sturdivant.
A celebration of Mrs. Fleming’s life and legacy will be held Friday, December 20, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. at Bible Gospel Center, 143 Leeder Hill Dr, Hamden. Viewing will be held at the church from 9:00 – 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Professional services entrusted to Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
