David Miguel Holder, 57

David Miguel Holder, 57, formerly of New Haven, passed away Feb. 25, 2017.

He was born in Caracas, Venezuela to Lynne Christmas Holder and the late Kenneth Holder on Feb. 15, 1960. His family moved to Connecticut after his father passed away.

After graduating from James Hillhouse High School, David served in the U.S. Navy as a repairman. His passion for cooking led him to Scottsdale Culinary Institute to become a chef. He also worked as a phlebotomist. In his spare time, David enjoyed fishing and photography. 

Besides his loving mother, David leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Latresa Holder; children, Lakyra Reveron, Kevin Libert, Rena Holder, Whitney Holder, and Javier Holder; brother, Garry (Jean) Christmas; sister, Maritza Holder (Melvin)-Walker; grandchildren, Kaylony Libert and Kevin David Libert; nephew, Kenneth Holder; niece, Monique Christmas; uncle, Cavan Christmas; aunt, Beulah Holder; and many loving relatives and dear friends. 

A memorial service will be held March 18, 2017 at 5 p.m. at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel St, New Haven, CT 06511.
