Doris Gonzalez, 67

Doris Gonzalez, 67, of Hamden; born June 30, 1947 in Vega Baja, PR to the late Pedro Ortiz and Maria Gonzalez, passed away October 30, 2014.

She worked as an administrator for Covidien, and she will be remembered as a loving wife of 48 years and as a woman of peace and faith who always conveyed a positive outlook on life. She will also be remembered by her church, St. Rosa Lima, for her hard work as a Bible study teacher, marriage counselor, and school teacher. She was wise, focused, enjoyed helping others, and had a gift in comforting others. One saying of her goes, Live today, don’t look at yesterday, and don’t look at tomorrow; live in the moment.”

She leaves to cherish her memory husband Emilio Gonzalez; son Emile Gonzalez (Christine) of Hamden; daughter Magali Gonzalez (Miguel Bush) of Hamden; brothers Pedro Ortiz of Granby; Angel Ortiz (Maureen) of New Fairfield; Miguel Ortiz of Norwalk; Hector Ortiz of Delaware; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited to attend A Mass Christian Burial Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 11AM at St. Rose of Lima Church; 115 Blatchley Ave., New Haven with a calling hour at the church from 10 – 11:00 AM.
