Dorothy Bailey-Brown, 62

Dorothy L. Bailey-Brown Dot”, 62, of New Haven, departed this life March 22, 2013.

She was born to Oscar and Annie Bailey, March 18, 1951, in Montgomery, AL.
Dorothy attended George Washington High School until the family relocated to New Haven, CT in 1968. She graduated from Richard C. Lee High School in 1970.
Dottie was a studying member of the Jehovah Witnesses where she attended the East Rock Congregation. She loved spending time with her son and her parents. She also enjoyed playing with her great nieces and nephews who called her Auntie Dot.
She was previously employed as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant at the V.A. Hospital in West Haven.
Dottie is survived by her son, Earnest Perry, Jr. of New Haven; three grandchildren; sisters, Rose Simpson of New Haven, Shirley Winston (John) of Branford, Karen Bailey (Isaac) of West Haven and Bridgett Bailey (Brian) of New Haven; uncles, Saul Stovall (Tommie Mae) of Georgia and Fred Stovall (Roxanne) of New Haven; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Oscar L. Bailey, Jr.
Funeral service will be held Monday, April 1, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. Viewing will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Online guestbook available www.curvinkcouncil.com
