Edith Russell, 96

Edith C. Denby Russell, 96, was born in New York City, August 20, 1916 to the late William E. and Ethel Lewis Cook.

Edith went home to be with our Lord on January 25, 2013.
Edith spent her entire life in New Haven and attended New Haven Public Schools. She was a concert pianist and also gave lessons to students.
Left to mourn her passing are her three sons, Albert (Betty) of New York City, Paul (Rose) of California, and William Denby of New Haven, CT; goddaughter, Ruth Brooks Douglas; daughter-in-Christ, Joyce Clinton Scott; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, January 31, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Online guestbook available at www.curvinkcouncil.com
