Estella Hill, 69

Estella Hill, 69, of New Haven departed this life May 7.

Born in Greenville, N.C., on March 23, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Louise Davis Spell. Ms. Hill had been employed at Priority Care as a home health aide for numerous years.

She was a member of Mt. Calvary Deliverance Tabernacle Church, where she served as a deaconess and as a member of the Daughters of Zion Choir.

Ms. Hill leaves to cherish her memory: daughters Corneil Hill-Williams (Mark) and Tracey McCutchen-Hill; a son, Kevin A. Hill, Sr.; three stepdaughters; brothers Willie Arthur, John Wesley (Nizelle) and Raphael Spell; sisters Josephine Murphy, Robena Lane (James), Verna Mae Grant (Jesse) and Judy Dupree (Blaney); grandchildren Kevin A.Hill, Jr., Tiffany Waddley, Noele B. Evans, Markev Nordby and Michael McCutchen; a great-grandchild, Kaiden T. Phillips; seven step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her companion, Zommie L. Waddley, and brothers James, Leroy, Clifton and Willie Eddie Spell.

A celebration of Ms. Hill’s life and legacy will be held Thursday, May 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Agape Christian Center, 90 Goffe St., New Haven. There are no calling hours, and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 2139 Silas Deane
