Everett C. Nichols, 66

Everett. Big E” Nichols, 66, of Madison died suddenly at home on March 22, 2017.

Everett was the husband of Alexis Dudow Nichols. Born in New Haven on April 29, 1950 a son of Everett J. and Alesandra Crisci Nichols. Everett was a member of the New Haven Police Department for 31 years, retiring in 2002 as a lieutenant and Fair Haven district manager.

He was appointed director of security for the Knights of Columbus in 2002 where he stayed until 2010. The past few years he has worked as a lead inspector for Qualcor. Everett was a founding member and the first Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 13500.

He was a board member and Past President of the Farnam Community, (Farnam Neighborhood House), a member of the NHPD Emerald Society and a member of Porcini International. He is the father of Cara Mullin and Amy (Matthew) LoCicero. Brother of Mary Ellen and Joseph (Susan) Nichols and proud grandfather of Scott, Matthew and Ava Mullin, Matthew and Sabrina LoCicero.

Visiting hours will be Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Iovanne Funeral Home Inc. 11 Wooster Pl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Michael Church Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to New Haven PAL 1 Union Ave. New Haven, CT 06511.
