Everne Lane, 88, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday.
He was born to the late William and Ethel (Riddick) Lane in Greenville, N.C. on March 6, 1929. Everne enjoyed spending time with his family and
friends, going to the casino and playing cards.
He leaves to cherish his memory his nieces Eva Smith and Ethel Smith, nephew Preston Lane, great-nieces Sandra and Tanya Smith, Tanya Fleming, great nephews Michael, Ronald, and Traver Smith and James Fleming. He also leaves eight great, great nieces and four great, great nephews and a host of family and friends.
Everne was predeceased by a brother Randolph Lane, two loving wives Ella Ruth (Foskey) Lane and Annie (Cox) Lane as well as a niece Julia Fleming and a nephew Eugene Foskey. A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel Street New Haven, CT 06511. Interment will be at Beaverdale Memorial Park.
