Grace S. Cook, 91, of New Haven born on October 24, 1924 in Laurens, SC to the late Gallie Madden and Mamie L (Moore) Madden, passed away peacefully April 7, 2016.
Grace was employed at YNHH as a supervisor in environmental services, for over 20 years, retiring in 1986. Grace found pleasure in reading her bible and listening to gospel music. Anyone that knew her knew she enjoyed cooking and shopping. She leaves behind to cherish her memory daughter Patricia Staggers McBride of New Haven, daughter in law Marabell Sullivan, granddaughter Sylvia (Curtis) Antrum, 4 additional grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. She is predeceased by husband Harry Cook, son Roger Sullivan, brothers; Wilson Madden and Wiley Booker, and sister Dollie Pyles. A celebration of life will take place Saturday April 16, 2016 at 9:00 AM at The New Trinity Temple COGIC; 285 Dixwell Ave., New Haven, with visitation Saturday at the church from 8 – 9 AM.
